Challenge Series: King’s Portrait

Day in day out you’re focusing on efficiency, bottom line, etc. But it’s equally important your employees are motivated and inspired. If they feel they can make a difference they will go an extra mile. And in the hospitality business that is the competitive edge. With that in mind here’s this week’s challenge.

Story:

There was a King who had 1 eye and 1 leg.
He asked all the painters in the kingdom to draw a beautiful portrait of him. But none of them could, how could they paint him beautifully with the defects in one eye and one leg.

Eventually, one of them agreed and drew a classic picture of the King.

It was a fantastic picture and surprised everyone.

He painted the King aiming for a hunt. Targeting with one eye closed and one leg bent.

Challenge:

Sometimes we need to highlight our strengths and hide our weakness. This week’ challenge is to have your staff write down 1-3 strengths and weaknesses.

Results:

Having your staff give them self a self-evaluation is a great way to promote growth. Post some of the submissions on the board. These self-evaluations can give way to self-realization.
